Celebrating the beauty and nuance of the human voice, this is stunningly beautiful a cappella music, with a few creatively accompanied selections. The program features traditional and contemporary spiritual settings (“Elijah, Rock” and “Nobody Knows the Trouble”), Eric Whitacre’s LUX ARUMQUE, Norman Luboff’s AFRICAN MASS, and much more.  Guest conductor Brad Richmond.

Celebrating the vast gifts from the earth: Blooms, Birds and Beasts! This performance includes selections from Dvorak’s “Songs of Nature” and Morten Lauridsen’s “Chansons Des Roses,” along with folk favorites “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Where Have All the Flowers Gone.”

This fourth edition of Adventures in Harmony is led by Dr. Gabriela Hristova, Associate Professor of Music at University of Michigan – Flint. Hundreds of high school singers will spend the day learning from this outstanding conductor and performer, and conclude with a giant performance in the evening! The evening showcase includes the mass choir, and other very special guest performers from all over West Michigan! The event is free for our audience, but donations are accepted to support this wonderful program.
